Cheryl Long
Surfacing
“Humanity has shared a connection with the spirit of the land since ancient times, and exploring this artistically fills me with gratitude and humility”
Cheryl Long is a Salt Spring based artist whose work shows great appreciation for the Canadian landscape, a source which she holds sacred. Long attributes years of being a massage therapist, designer, and illustrator to the foundation of her work’s suggestion to anatomy and flowing shapes. To Long, “rocks, trees, water, and clouds become emotionally charged through the suggestion of movement and sculptural form.”
